Student Voice Matters at UKMC

Student Voice and Satisfaction

Between November 2025 and February 2026, UKMC received 1,140 responses to its Annual Student Survey from students studying across Business Management, Digital Marketing, Health and Social Care, and Education and Childhood programmes. Responses were gathered from students enrolled with both Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Wolverhampton, providing a broad and representative view of the student experience.

Student Satisfaction Highlights

  • 76% of students expressed positive satisfaction with the quality of their course, demonstrating a strong overall student experience across UKMC programmes.
  • 86% of Education and Childhood students reported a positive experience of their course, reflecting high levels of satisfaction with their learning journey. 
  • 85% of Business Management students (September 2023 cohort) expressed positive satisfaction with their course, highlighting consistently strong student outcomes.
  • 95% of Business Management students (January, May and September 2025 cohorts) reported a positive perception of their course quality, with a significant proportion stating they were highly satisfied with their experience. 
  • 92% of Business Management students (January 2026 cohort) expressed satisfaction with the quality of their course, demonstrating exceptionally positive feedback from learners. 98% of January 2026 Business Management students said they had opportunities to apply their learning in practice, supporting the development of career-ready skills and knowledge. 
  • 94% of Digital Marketing students (January and May 2025 cohorts) reported satisfaction with their course, reflecting a highly positive student experience. 
  • 100% of Digital Marketing students (January 2026 cohort) provided positive feedback about their course experience, demonstrating outstanding levels of student satisfaction.
  • 78% of Health and Social Care students expressed satisfaction with the overall quality of their course, indicating generally positive perceptions of the programme.

You wanted enhanced academic support workshops, to know where to access more resources, and continued improvements to your learning experience.

We Did:

We strengthened academic support services and introduced targeted improvements to further enhance student-centred learning and academic provision. We implement regular meetings with PATs and Lecturers to ensure that your learning needs are on track, and so we are able to tailor support to your needs. Workshops are being developed with the Academic Language department to embed support further into the curriculum and day to day study.

You wanted more employability and career development opportunities.

We Did:

We delivered on our employability initiatives; a Careers Fair was held on 24 February 2026. The event proved successful, contributing to increased student engagement, participation and awareness of career opportunities.

We have a dedicated Careers and Employability lead working on developing exciting opportunities for CV enhancement, interview skills, speaking and confidence building.

At our careers fair on 24 February (visit our UKMC Career fair events page). we had a diverse group of prominent companies including KPMG, NHS England, and Manchester City Council come to the college to showcase their businesses, vacancy opportunities. They provided live CV drop-in clinics and offered valuable prizes to dedicated students who excelled in our Mock Interview Competition.

We Did:

The issues raised were investigated and resolved, we work closely with partners to ensure the VLE systems are running smoothly without disruption wherever we can. Improving access to your online learning environment is important to learning on the go and working around busy lives!.

You Said:

You wanted an easier way to share feedback, concerns, and suggestions.

We Did:

We introduced partnership university surveys through EBS, enhanced our student feedback processes, and are developing additional tools including a student portal, QR code access, and module-linked surveys to make feedback even more accessible. There is also a new email address students can share any feedback with called  haveyoursay@ukmc.ac.uk.
