Welcome to the UKMC Student Association

The UKMC Student Association (UKMCSA) represents all students at UK Management College.

It is a student-led body that exists to ensure every student has the opportunity to be heard, represented, and supported throughout their academic journey.

We are here to:

The Student Association operates within the governance framework of UKMC and contributes to a structured and transparent approach to student representation.

Student Voice

Student voice is a key part of enhancing the quality of the student experience at UKMC.

Students are able to share their views through:

  • Class Representatives
  • Student Officers
  • Student meetings and forums
  • Surveys and feedback tools
  • Student Staff Liaison Committees (SSLCs)

Student feedback is:

  • Shared with relevant staff
  • Reviewed through structured processes

STUDENT REPRESENTATION
How Representation Works

Student representation ensures that students are involved in decisions that affect their learning and experience.

Representation is supported through clear and structured processes aligned with UKMC policies and procedures.

Class Representatives

Class Representatives support student voice at course level.

They:

  • Represent their class or course
  • Collect and present student feedback
  • Attend SSLCs and meetings
  • Provide updates to their peers
Student Officers

Student Officers lead the Student Association and represent students across the College.

They:

  • Are elected by students for a one year term
  • Represent student views at College level
  • Take part in Course Committees and formal meetings
  • Support student engagement and initiatives
Where Students Are Represented

Student representatives contribute to:

  • Internal College forums and discussions

These structures support open communication and engagement between students and staff.

Student Elections

Term of Office

All Student Association Officers are elected for a one year term.

Support and Recognition

Student Officers are supported through:

  • Structured training and guidance
  • Ongoing support throughout their term
  • A monthly allowance to support the delivery of their responsibilities in line with UKMC processes

Support for Student Representatives

All student representatives receive training to support them in their role.

This ensures students are supported to carry out their role effectively and responsibly.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Behaviour and Expectations

All Student Association members are expected to:

  • Act respectfully and professionally
  • Represent students fairly and accurately
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Follow UKMC policies and procedures
Important

Members must not:

  • Share confidential or sensitive information
  • Use their role for personal gain
  • Act in a way that may negatively affect others or the College

Failure to meet expectations may result in appropriate action, including removal from the role in line with established procedures.

The Student Association handles student data responsibly and in line with UKMC policies.

President – Abbas Mohammed

The President leads the Student Association and represents students at College level. This role supports student voice and contributes to discussions that inform improvements to the student experience.

Abbas Mohammed focuses on representing students clearly and supporting communication between students and staff. The role involves leadership, coordination, and engagement with the wider student community.

Vice President Manchester – Abdullah Khan

The Vice President supports the President and contributes to the leadership of the Student Association.

Abdullah khan works with the officer team to support student engagement and ensure the smooth running of Student Association activity. The role focuses on collaboration and continuity.

Vice President Newcastle – Mohammod Noor Khan

The Vice President supports the President and contributes to the leadership of the Student Association.

Vice President Derby - Fahid Shah

The Vice President supports the President and contributes to the leadership of the Student Association.

Vice President Sunderland - Abbas Mohammed

General Newcastle – Abbas Mohammed

The General Secretary supports the organisation and coordination of the Student Association.

Treasurer – Rabia Waseem

The Treasurer supports the oversight of Student Association finances.

Rabia Waseem helps ensure financial activity is managed responsibly and in line with College processes. The role focuses on planning, transparency, and accountability.

Public Relations Officer – Hasnaat Ali

The Public Relations Officer supports communication and student engagement.

Hasnaat Ali works to ensure that students are informed and aware of Student Association activities. The role focuses on communication and visibility.

Welfare Officer – Aivita Paladza

The Welfare Officer focuses on student wellbeing and support.

Aivita Paladza works to promote a supportive and inclusive student environment and to help students access appropriate support where needed.

Events Coordinator – Muneeb Qamar

The Events Coordinator supports the planning and organisation of student activities.

Academic Affairs Officer – Abbas Mohammed
