Supporting your emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing — and ensuring every student has equal access to education.

Who we are

We are the Wellbeing and Disability & Inclusion services at UKMC — two dedicated teams working together to support students with their mental health, disability needs, and additional requirements. We provide safe, inclusive, and confidential spaces where every individual feels valued, supported, and able to achieve their full potential.

Our aim

To remove barriers to learning and ensure that every student:

  • Feels included and supported
  • Has equal access to education
  • Can achieve their full potential

Wellbeing services

One-to-one drop-in sessions

Talk confidentially with a Wellbeing Advisor — on campus or online — about stress, personal concerns, emotional health, or academic pressures.

Wellbeing assessments

Confidential conversations to understand your individual needs following a wellbeing request form, with personalised next steps and recommendations.

Personalised wellbeing plans

Tailored plans for students with disabilities, long-term conditions, or temporary difficulties, including:

  • Learning Support Plans (LSPs) — long-term adjustments
  • Temporary Learning Adjustments (TLAs) — short-term support

Wellbeing workshops

Online workshops and skill-building sessions promoting positive mental health, resilience, and inclusion.

Wellbeing ambassadors & peer support

Students trained to support their peers through leadership, creative activities, and self-care programmes that promote connection.

Wellbeing events & awareness

Events to build confidence, manage stress, and feel supported — plus classroom visits to raise awareness of available services.

Disabled students' allowance (DSA)

Support for eligible students through DSA, including:

  • DSA application and query support
  • Specialist study skills support
  • Assistive technology and equipment funding guidance

  • Confidential advice and guidance for students and applicants
  • Disability parking facilities on most campuses
  • On-campus 1:1 support sessions
  • Extended library lending periods
  • Referrals to counselling and other services

Togetherall — online support community

    • Available 24/7
    • Through our partnership with Togetherall, UKMC students have access to a safe, anonymous online community with trained professionals, peer support, and self-help resources — any time, anywhere.
