Lisa Yam DL MSc LLB (Hons) PGDipLP

Lisa Yam is a solicitor, academic collaborator, and Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, recognised for her professional achievements and longstanding commitment to civic engagement and community development.

She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) and an LLB (Hons) in Law, as well as an MSc and BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary foundation bridging law and science.

Lisa is Partner and Co-Founder of Brindle & Yam Solicitors, a Manchester-based commercial law firm specialising in litigation, high-net-worth immigration, and corporate matters. Appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester in 2019, she supports the Lord-Lieutenant in promoting civic participation, community cohesion, and charitable initiatives across the region.

As President of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Manchester (FCAM), Lisa leads one of the UK’s largest Chinese community organisations, advancing cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the UK and China. She also serves in advisory roles to Greater Manchester Police and holds several honorary positions within national Chinese associations.

Through her leadership, Lisa actively supports UKMC’s mission to promote educational collaboration, intercultural dialogue, and civic learning within Greater Manchester and beyond.
