Engaging Future Students at the UK University Search Fair

UKMC exhibited at the UK University Search Fair on 17 April at the University of Derby, joining a wide range of universities, colleges and training providers for a day focused on student progression and higher education opportunities.

The event drew a strong turnout of prospective students from across the region, many of whom came prepared to explore their post-16 and post-18 options in detail. Exhibition stands remained busy throughout the day, with students engaging directly with representatives to ask informed questions about courses, entry requirements and student life.

A series of talks ran alongside the exhibition, covering key areas such as the UCAS application process, personal statements and student finance. These sessions complemented the exhibition floor, offering practical guidance to help students navigate what can often be a complex decision-making process.

UKMC’s team spoke with a high volume of students over the course of the day, providing tailored advice and highlighting available progression routes. Conversations were often detailed and personal, giving students the opportunity to discuss their ambitions and concerns in a supportive, informal setting.

What stood out most was the value of those direct, face to face interactions. For UKMC, events like this are not simply about visibility, but about building genuine connections, meeting students where they are, understanding their goals, and offering guidance that feels relevant and accessible. That close engagement remains central to how UKMC supports students as they take their next steps.
