Prof Olivier Sparagano Recognised Among the Best Scientists for 2025

One of the leading academic platforms for researchers, Research.com, has officially released its prestigious annual ranking of the Best Scientists for 2025. Once again, UKMC's very own Professor Olivier Sparagano has earned a prominent place on the list, recognised for his continued excellence and ground-breaking contributions to the scientific community.

In the latest rankings, Professor Sparagano is honoured as #22 in China for Animal Sciences and Veterinary, and #838 worldwide, placing him among the top echelon of scientists in his field.

Throughout his career, Professor Sparagano has been at the forefront of research into haemoparasites, ticks, and zoonotic pathogens. He has published widely cited studies, including his landmark paper “Simultaneous detection of Anaplasma and Ehrlichia species in ruminants”, which has been cited nearly 200 times.

Prof Sparagano's recent publications on issues such as the microbiomes of poultry mites and the persistent impact of red mite infestations in the European egg industry underscore his relevance in both academic and applied veterinary science domains.
