Supporting Students on World Mental Health Day: A Recap of UKMC’s Wellbeing Event at Abarna Campus

At UKMC, we understand that a student's journey is not only about academic success but also about maintaining a healthy balance between personal well-being and studies. Today, on World Mental Health Day, we took the opportunity to focus on the emotional and mental health of our students by hosting a special event at Abarna Campus.

Our aim was to offer meaningful support to students who may be facing personal challenges that impact their attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being. Mental health struggles can often feel overwhelming, but we believe that no student should ever face these challenges alone.

A Day of Support and Guidance

The event was led by our highly qualified Wellbeing Team, which includes Dr. Razia Sultana, PhD, FHEA, Dr. Disi Ai, and Nabila Nabi. Together, they offered personalised advice and guidance to students dealing with mental health challenges, academic stress, and personal difficulties. Each member of our team brings a wealth of experience in mental health, education, and student welfare, ensuring that students receive the care and support they need.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to engage with our team in a supportive, confidential space. Whether students needed guidance on managing stress, balancing life commitments, or simply a compassionate ear to listen, our team was there to help.

UKMC’s Commitment to Well-Being

At UKMC, we believe that student well-being is at the core of academic success. We have developed a strong support network designed to cater to the emotional, physical, and academic needs of our students. Our Wellbeing Team is always on hand to provide ongoing support, and we encourage students to reach out if they need help, whether it is related to mental health or any other personal issues.

The message of World Mental Health Day is a simple yet powerful reminder: you are not alone. Here at UKMC, we are committed to ensuring that all our students can thrive both in and out of the classroom, no matter the obstacles they face.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to build a compassionate and inclusive community at UKMC, events like this will remain a central part of our mission. We will continue to foster an environment where students feel supported, heard, and empowered to seek help when needed.

Mental health is an ongoing conversation, and we encourage students to remember that support is always available. Whether through our Wellbeing Team or our wider network of student services, we are here to help you succeed in every aspect of your student journey.

Remember, you are never alone—UKMC is here to support you, both inside and outside the classroom.

Let us continue to stand together, not just on World Mental Health Day, but every day, as we build a healthier, more supportive community for all.
